A camp lakefront at golden hour, with a wooden swim dock reaching into still water

You never actuallyoutgrew camp.

Two nights in the Texas Hill Country. Lake swims, rock climbing walls, a DJ set under the stars, and a bonfire that goes till someone finally calls it. It's time to connect with other people like you. Bunk Beds, bug spray and a bar. No chaperones this time.

What is Back to Bunks?

Real summer camps, in their quiet months, ran for adults.

Austin is ringed by campgrounds that sit empty most of the year. We partner with them in the off-season and open the gates to adults — cabins, a mess hall, a lake, and a schedule you're free to ignore.

Everything you remember

A pickup kickball game, a color war that has you cheering for strangers, a water slide after lunch, and post-dinner chats that decide their own bedtime.

You'll leave with connections

Come alone or bring the group chat. Cabins get assigned, teams get mixed, and by day two nobody remembers who arrived with who.

Phones in the jar

There's a jar by the door. The weekend works better when the people you make memories with are the people standing in front of you.

How it works
1

Get on the list

Sessions are small. Join this list to get access to ticket drops before it's public anywhere else.

2

Pick your session

Join us for the weekend at a campground within an hour or so of Austin. Bunk with existing friends or get placed with new ones.

3

Show up Friday

Meals and every activity are included. Bring bedding, a good attitude, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty.

A note from us —

As we were both approaching thirty, we kept having the same conversation. Why is it so much more difficult to make friends now than when we were kids? Everyone we asked said the same thing back - it’s just not as easy to meet people as adults.

The problem isn't that people stopped wanting friends. It's that adult life has no more shared bunkhouses — nowhere you're stuck with the same people for multiple days with nothing to do but get to know each other. Adult friendships often require scheduling a two-hour dinner on the only open day on your calendar (which is, by the way, six weeks out).

So we're renting the camps in their quiet months and running a full summer camp experience for adults. Same bunks, same lake, same nostalgic feeling. We're starting with a handful of weekends within an hour or so outside of Austin, with a small enough group that we'll know everyone's name by Saturday.

We're building it one session at a time, and we'd like to see you at the first one.
